Abstract

Introduction: Since UNESCO considers education as the beginning of development, it can be said that education is the most important effective factor in changing the attitude and behavior of people, which is on the path of economic growth, improving the quality of life, creating knowledge and skills, providing job opportunities and increasing the production of society. is employed Planning for environmental protection education in order to move from the current state of the city and citizens to the desired state requires the development of gradual plans. The optimal growth and development of the city needs changes and transformations in order to move towards the mobility and participation of the citizens. Environmental education of citizenship should be done first at the level of students and then at all members of the society. Also, in order to develop citizenship education, methods should be used that are socially acceptable, emphasizing the progress of educational programs along with positive changes, and are compatible with social, cultural, and environmental criteria at the same time. Education has the greatest effect and role on the mentality and civilization of societies. The aim of the current research is to achieve the criteria for the design of the physical environment of the educational space with emphasis on creating motivation to learn skill-based education with the approach of environmental protection. Materials & methods: In this research, a survey-descriptive and background-finding method has been used. The statistical population in this research includes all female high school students in the academic year 2017-2018 in Tehran. In order to collect the research data, a researcher-made questionnaire was used and the resulting data after coding were analyzed using spss statistical software. Results: The obtained results show that between the physical factors of the educational environment (integration with the natural environment, physical beauty and attractiveness, practical natural space and collective participation spaces) with each of the skill-oriented factors (law-abiding, seeking participation, friendship with nature and its protection and civil attitude) there is a semantic relationship. Conclusion: Therefore, using and operationalizing the physical model of educational spaces can greatly help to improve the quality of education management in line with the goals of sustainable development in protecting the environment
